Looking Back Before Moving Forward
As this year comes to a close, I find myself pausing—not to relive every moment, but to reflect on what God has done through them.
This year has not been perfect. It has not been easy. But it has been good.
There were moments of joy—times when God’s hand was unmistakable, when prayers were answered clearly and blessings came in ways we didn’t expect. There were also moments of struggle, uncertainty, and discomfort—times that tested faith, trust, and endurance. Yet in every season, God remained faithful.
We were reminded that faith does not mean the absence of hardship. It means choosing to trust God through it.
Lessons Learned Along the Way
This year brought clarity in unexpected places. We wrestled with church culture, leadership, grace, tradition, and Scripture—not to divide, but to understand. We asked hard questions about what it truly means to follow Christ, to love sacrificially, and to walk humbly.
We were reminded that:
Grace must always outweigh pride
Unity in Christ matters more than uniformity
Truth and love were never meant to be separated
Some doors closed. Others cracked open slowly. A few surprised us entirely.
And through it all, God continued shaping hearts—especially in the quiet moments no one else sees.
Marriage, Faith, and the Daily Choice to Love
Marriage remained a central theme this year—not as a picture of perfection, but of perseverance.
Love was not presented as a feeling, but as a daily decision. To forgive. To listen. To stay. To serve. To remember the little things.
God continued to remind us that a strong marriage isn’t built on big gestures, but on consistent obedience, humility, and Christ-centered love. Even when seasons were heavy, His design for marriage remained steady and good.
Gratitude in All Things
This year also deepened our understanding of gratitude—not as something reserved for easy days, but as a posture of faith.
We learned to thank God not only for blessings, but through trials. To look for His presence even when answers were delayed. To trust that what He is doing behind the scenes matters, even when we don’t yet understand it.
As Paul reminds us:
“In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:18
Looking Ahead with Hope
As we prepare to step into a new year and a new blog series, we do so with gratitude, humility, and hope.
Not because we know what’s coming—but because we know Who goes before us.
God has been good. He has been present. And He has been faithful.
So before we move forward, we pause here—thankful for the lessons, the growth, the challenges, and the victories. Thankful that God is still working, still refining, and still calling us closer to Him.
Here’s to finishing the year grounded—and stepping into the next one trusting.
Reflection Verse to Close the Year
